6. Human Fright (5.10a) ** Great crack climbing, albeit with some loose flakes. Most climbers do just the first pitch and rap off, although the second pitch is good too. Pitch 1: (5.10a) Climb up a clean crack in a smooth right-facing corner, then under a right-leaning, overhanging flake until you can jam up through a break in the overhang to a 2-bolt belay/rappel anchor (80 feet). Pitch 2: (5.10a) Climb to the huge, arching right-facing corner and jam up the corner to a belay ledge where it ends. From here you can rap from a tree (100 feet down to the 2-bolt anchor), descending in two rappels, or move left to finish on Angel’s Fright. Pro: thin to 3 inches, including two each CDs from 1 to 3 inches. FA: John Mendenhall and Royal Robbins, June 1952. FFA: Bob Kamps, 1963.
